Archaeology (and anthropology) can help us answer questions about our past to address problems we still have today. We work on archaeology projects to help our clients uncover stories from the past to help us write new stories about our history. Whether your project is a family story, a compliance contract, or anything in between - we can help you craft an ethical, community inclusive project from start to finish.

Fieldwork: Archaeology and Anthropology

Carolina Community Archaeology specializes in doing archaeology by, with, and for our community. That means for average people who have a historic place they need help investigating, government entities who need help with their cultural resource management contracts, or with academic institutions who need help teaching the next generation of scientists. We can help you dig for the stories of our past in an ethical and sustainable fashion, using community input to pave the way.

Archaeology by, with, and for our community

  • Sometimes, using science to look for the past seems impossible for everyday people.

Carolina Community Archaeology can sit down with you and help figure out what kind of archaeology you might need, and how that works. We can work with you on at an hourly or retainer-based rate based on your projects needs.

  • Cultural Resource Managment

The team at Carolina Community Archaeology has collectively over 40 years of working in the CRM field. We can handle Phase I & II investigations as well as data recoveries for both development and mitigation. Licensed, Insured, and Registered Professional Archaeologists.

  • Educational Partnerships

Teaching fieldwork, whether it is archaeology or cultural anthropology, is no small task. Founder, Dr. Katheirne Seeber, has over 20 years of experience teaching field school. She has managed or directed accredited field schools for James Madison’s Montpelier and Binghamton University, and has run field schools for both undergraduate and graduate level students. We are always thrilled to help develop, host, and complete summer and winter fieldschools with partner institutions.

  • The way we research your history makes all the difference in what we find.
